POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Avionics Manager, the Avionics Technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of advanced avionics systems on a wide range of helicopter types. They are responsible for maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting avionics systems in accordance with all regulatory requirements, technical data, and company standards. As a core member of the avionics team, they deliver precise and compliant work that upholds Alpine Aerotech's reputation for quality, safety, and technical excellence in helicopter maintenance and support.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AVIONICS TECHNICIAN
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of aircraft systems, including electrical, power generation, navigation, communications, and autoflight systems on small piston helicopters and small to medium turbine helicopters;
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, overhaul, modify, install, and maintain aircraft electronic, electrical, instrument, and avionics systems and components, including communications, navigation, and autoflight equipment;
  • Perform avionics maintenance and installations in accordance with applicable drawings, manuals, SOPs, and regulatory requirements;
  • Inspect and test aircraft instrument, electrical, and avionics systems to ensure all installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities meet Transport Canada regulations and company standards for performance and safety;
  • Diagnose system malfunctions and perform required adjustments, servicing, repairs, and modifications;
  • Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities;
  • Complete, certify, and maintain accurate technical records and related documentation;
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of Avionics Apprentices;
  • Carry out additional duties as required; and
  • Uphold an unwavering standard of excellence that consistently represents the Alpine Aerotech brand.

OUR MUST HAVES
  • Graduation from a Transport Canada accredited Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Category 'E' program.
  • AME-E Transport Canada license;
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Avionics Technician, with hands-on experience in the maintenance and installation of avionics and related electrical systems;
  • Previous avionics and electrical systems experience on Bell, Airbus or Leonardo aircraft considered an asset;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to generate high quality deliverables;
  • Strong time and project management skills and self-motivation;
  • Robust interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and professional maturity with demonstrated ability to effectively interact and build professional relationships;
  • Awareness of the sensitivity of information received and appropriate handling; and
  • Know what it means to work smarter, not harder.
