WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

This role is to provide direction and guidance to the Porter's while on shift. In addition to general leadership, the Team Lead is also responsible for accurately setting up meeting rooms as indicated on the Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) and supporting all food and beverage events associated with our conference business as well as other food areas. The Conference Porter Team lead will also maintain equipment and upkeep the facilities.

• Follow a Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  
• Organize the Conference Porter Team in regard to shifts requirements and event timing.
• Delegate shifts tasks and duties to Porter Team as required.
• Set up, tear down and stocking of meeting rooms and special events.
• Refresh and reset meeting rooms during and after events.
• Set up banquet bar tables.
• Pick-up and delivery of bar product.
• Communicate and work alongside clients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas and banquet product.
• Review and check room spaces to ensure set up meeting client expectations and Banquet standards.

WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?

• Strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Previous Porter experience and knowledge of Conference Services operations an asset.
• Valid Driver's license an asset.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure within a set timeline.
• Smart Serve certification required prior to start date.
• Availability for flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to perform physically demanding duties such as lifting (up to 50lbs.)
